Drilling Rig Design
Telescopic double drilling rigs with a hook load of 340,000 and 410,000 lbs have been designed with stepdown substructures and draw works skids. Complete supporting buildings have been designed with doghouse raising systems. Custom designs are tailored to meet customer requirements, to match the equipment design with the working practices and working culture of the customer's workforce.
Today's drilling environments often require customized equipment to meet site conditions. DAIR designed a box on box substructure to either span or straddle a 12 foot wide cellar, and provide a clear working width of 16 feet and a height of 20 feet. Additionally this rig required a moving system that could rotate the rig in addition to moving in a straight line. Out of the box thinking and close communication with the client resulted in a specialized drilling rig that met their unique requirements.
